Mobile games have evolved much faster than any other technology before them. Android games seem to reach new heights every year. We're seeing more and more premium game releases that challenge what mobile can do, and even free-to-play games are getting better and better. To be honest, the mobile phone offers some pretty impressive titles. Some of them even compete with console and PC games or are available for PC and console in addition to mobile games. Here are the best Android games currently available. It's the creme de la creme, so the list won't change often unless something excellent pops up.
Apex Legends
Apex Legends Mobile was released in 2022 and became a hit. It's a battle royale shooter in the vein of Fortnite and PUBG New State. However, this game has come out with a fairly polished version, with excellent controls, some different game modes and more interesting abilities. The basic Battle Royale mode has 60 players spread across 20 teams. There is also a rated variant and a Team Deathmatch mode. As you progress through the game, you unlock new legends, and each legend has its own abilities. It's a new game, so it's a little flimsy, but it's been downloaded over ten million times in its first month and is frankly more fun than other games of its kind.
Call of Duty : Mobile
Call of Duty: Mobile was our pick for the best Android game of 2019, and we usually wait a while before adding a game, but Call of Duty: Mobile is so popular and has gotten such a high rating that we added it sooner than usual. The game has both a normal online PvP mode and a 100-player Battle Royale mode. That puts it in a rare category where it can Battle Royale like PUBG Mobile, but also normal PvP FPS like Critical Ops or Modern Combat. There's a surprising amount of stuff to do.
Genshin Impact
Genshin Impact is an action RPG with gacha mechanics. This game was also our pick for the best game of 2020 and was praised by many critics upon release for its stunning graphics and excellent gameplay. It looks and behaves a bit like Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but that doesn't seem to bother anyone. The game has a party system, and you can summon new characters through a gacha system similar to the other gachas. But the graphics, gameplay mechanics and completely open world (with a glider) make the game much less restrictive than most other games in this genre.
League of Legends : Wild Rift
League of Legends: Wild Rift is a 5v5 MOBA game. There were plenty of them on mobile, but they've disappeared in recent years. League of Legends: Wild Rift is probably the best game of them all right now. The games last about 15-20 minutes, which is a bit long for a MOBA game on a mobile. Still, the game is fun, you can't buy victories, and the developers seem intent on keeping it balanced. It's not perfect. Casual games sometimes have unbalanced teams, which can be frustrating. There's not much to be done in this regard, however. It's a rock solid MOBA in a genre where there hasn't been anything consistent for a few years now.
League of Runeterra
Legends of Runeterra is one of the newest Android games on this list. It's an online fighting game similar to games like Hearthstone. Players collect cards and heroes and then build a deck of those cards and heroes. They then compete against opponents online. The game removes randomness as much as possible, leading to a great gaming experience as a whole. The game includes 24 champions, a deck of cards, and you can also invite friends to duel against you.
